Rebranding an institution

The Toronto Jazz Festival is the largest urban free outdoor music festival in Canada. Taking over the city streets for 10 Days in June, the Toronto Jazz Festival features 4 prominent stages in the heart of downtown, showcasing some of the biggest names in music. For the 2023 season the Toronto Jazz Fest asked Epigram to revitalize their brand and reach a new audience and it was a smashing success! Some key metric include 48 Million Social Media impressions. $8 Million dollars in economic contribution to the city & Province from visitors and 500k new attendees, newcomers and young audiences.

Branding

We created a brand with 3 goals in mind: One, Creating a strong brand impression; Two, Expressing the energy of the event; Three, Prioritizing social media content.

Posters

The primary deliverable for audiences was both print and digital posters. We built out a flexible poster template that can be used to highlight all of the artists or one-at-a-time.

Signage

We built the brand to work well both in digital and in-person with Event Signage being a key deliverable. Banners, Stage Backdrops, Schedules and Location IDs all helped to create a sense of summer fun while developing a unified look-and-feel.

Social Media Stickers

To target the the Gen Z, social media  demographic we used a sticker system. The stickers add a lot of visual energy and interest while also being an efficient way to organize information. Users can tag their own social posts and spread brand awareness.  

Merch & Volunteers

The brand was always built with strong brand extensions in mind. We developed great merch and volunteer shirts and IDs using the brand system.
